Several months ago, my wife and I felt God was telling us that our current season of ministry was coming to an end. It was hard, but we stepped out in faith and obedience, not knowing what was next, or how long it would be before God called us once again to join a church staff.
Very soon after, one of my longtime friends told me about how God was moving in powerful ways through a new church plant with which he was on staff. Citylight Fort Collins planted just two years ago as the first Citylight church in Colorado and things were going better than anyone could have imagined, in fact, they were getting ready to plant another church just 30 minutes away in Greeley Colorado.
When my friend found out I had left my previous ministry job he encouraged me to pray into this possible opportunity and connected me with the two co-lead pastors who will be leading this new church plant. At first, I pursued further conversations as an act of obedience, but soon that obedience turned into excitement about what God was doing through Citylight churches, and the possibility of joining one of these church planting teams.
It was also during this time that we got connected with Citylight Council Bluffs. The pastors and the church embraced us immediately with love which was such a healing experience. After about a month of many conversations and prayer with both the Council Bluffs pastors and the Greeley pastors, it became clear to us that this is what God was calling us to step into next.
I will be joining the Greeley planting team as the worship director and my wife accepted a job teaching 1st grade in Greeley. We couldn’t be MORE excited about what God has in store for us in this next season!
