Women’s Silent Retreat

What can I expect in attending the Come Away Silent Retreat ?
It may be a new experience for many, but we hope to model how to spend time apart to be quiet with the only intention being to sit at Jesus feet. Just to listen and worship him. To quiet the noise of life and be with Him. Learning to practice this spiritual discipline is to do what Jesus did. Going to a “solitary place” and get alone with the Father. Jesus did this as a regular practice.

As we gather at the St. Benedictine Retreat Center location, we will check in at 5-6 pm and go to your assigned rooms. Some with share a room with another woman and others have chosen a private room. The dinner will follow at 6 pm where we will give basic instructions and ways to experience this time without conversation or interaction with others.  St Benedictine Retreat Center is a large property with lots of space to spread out and fine special spots to be alone.

What we encourage!
· Total Silence for 24 hrs except when we gather for instructions or checking in as a group. A suggested schedule will be offered.This time is meant to also take our meals in silence in the silent dining room.
· We will offer support, yet it is a time for you to experience private time with the Father Son, and Holy Spirit.
· There will be no formal teaching or speaker.
· We encourage walking, sitting or exploring the many places at the retreat center for prayer and silence.
· No infants or children allowed.
· We encourage each participant to put away all electronic devices during this time.

If you chose to room with a friend, we encourage you to maintain silence. But there will be a time to converse and share at our last meal Saturday night at 6 pm prior to leaving to return home.

The cost for having a private room is $105.00, including 4 meals: dinner Fri night, breakfast, lunch and dinner Saturday. A double occupancy room is $94.00 each including meals. This must be paid at registration. No refunds can be issued, but your reservation can be transferred to another person if you are unable to go as long at it is communicated to Peg with the full name of the person taking your place instead.

The food is delicious and plentiful, but no special dietary needs can be accommodated. There are multiple refrigerators around the facility to bring and keep special foods you may bring. Microwaves are available as well.

This special time is meant to lay the groundwork for practicing a regular time away and alone with the Lord. Once you experience it, you will fall in love and look forward to doing it regularly. Any questions or concerns let Peg Christensen know.
