Operation Christmas Child

Our church is excited to be a part of Operation Christmas Child this year.  Since 1993, this Samaritan’s Purse project has collected and delivered more than 135 million gift-filled shoeboxes to children in more than 150 countries and territories around the world.  Just last year, Operation Christmas Child reached 11.5 million children!

With their shoeboxes, children also receive “The Greatest Gift,” a storybook presentation of the gospel.  Children also can participate in follow-up discipleship classes through a local church to help them learn about Christ’s love and share their faith with others.

Wanna pack a gift-filled shoebox?

Shoeboxes are available on Sunday mornings along with information on how to pack the box.

In addition, would you consider volunteering during a 2- to 4-hour time frame during the drop-off week?

Citylight Council Bluffs is the drop-off location for Council Bluffs, and we’d love your help to coordinate this effort.  Our drop-off location is open…

4-8pm daily, Monday, November 13 through Thursday, November 16.

8am-12noon on Friday, November 17

9am-1pm on Saturday, November 18

9am-4pm on Sunday, November 19

9am-11am on Monday, November 20

We’re also looking for a truck, driver, and helpers to load all the boxes from our building to deliver them to the collection center in Atlantic, IA.

Please contact Roger or Cheryl Newman at 712-366-4947 or 402-681-8725 or roger_n_51501@yahoo.com for more details and to sign up to help!
